How care works here

From your first visit to fewer visits

1

A full exam first

Your first visit is a complete Gonstead exam. Dr. Knapp hears the whole story of what hurts and when, examines your spine, and takes a full-spine X-ray when your case calls for one.

2

You see what he sees

He walks you through your X-ray and exam findings in plain words, so you know what is going on before anything gets adjusted.

3

A plan with an end

Care is planned around fixing the problem. Your findings are tracked visit to visit, so care changes as you change, and visits taper as you improve.

What we do

Two things, done specifically

Most patients start here

Gonstead chiropractic care

Gonstead adjusting for sciatic nerve pain, migraines and headaches, neck pain, TMJ, and knee and shoulder pain, plus gentle care for expecting moms and kids. Every adjustment is aimed at something the exam actually found.

Functional nutrition

For patients whose health story is bigger than their spine. Dr. Knapp builds practical, individual nutrition plans that support the care happening on the table.

The Gonstead System

Five ways of knowing before one adjustment

Before Dr. Knapp adjusts anything, five kinds of evidence have to agree on where the problem is. That is the heart of the Gonstead System, and it is why the adjustment goes to the right spot instead of the sore one.

  1. Full-spine X-ray. A complete picture of your spine, so the adjustment targets the real problem instead of the sore spot.
  2. Instrumentation. A heat-reading instrument traces your spine to find inflammation, a reading that does not depend on guesswork.
  3. Static palpation. Careful hands over each segment, feeling for swelling, tenderness, and changes in the tissue.
  4. Motion palpation. Each joint moved through its range to find which segments glide and which are stuck.
  5. Visualization. How you stand, walk, and move, checked by a trained eye at every visit.

Why people switch to Dr. Knapp

Treated like a person, not a number

"I've tried chiropractors before."

Many patients at Knapp Family Chiropractic have too, and didn't get the results they wanted. The Gonstead System starts somewhere different: find the exact problem first, then adjust it.

"I don't want to go forever."

Neither does Dr. Knapp. Every care plan here has a goal and an end point, and he tells you what that end point looks like before care begins.

"Can my whole family come?"

Yes, and plenty of families do. Parents, kids, grandparents, and moms-to-be, with care adapted to every age. That is the "Family" in Knapp Family Chiropractic.

In their own words

What patients say after a few visits

I had extreme lower back pain that made it almost impossible to function. ... It developed into sciatic pain that was just too much to handle. ... I went in to do x-rays and an evaluation. The first visit, Dr. Knapp decided to do a small adjustment since I was in such bad shape. Ever since I have felt a million times better and my health has changed completely. I train BJJ and was at the point of stopping but since coming to Dr. Knapp, I haven't had to take one day off!

Danny T. November 2022

I've had back pain for my entire adult life and have used home stretches, medication and seen other chiropractors with little success. After three appointments with Dr. Connor I am finally pain free and so happy with the results! Thank you Knapp Family Chiropractic!

Benjamin I. November 2022

Dr. Knapp is an amazing chiropractor! I went to see him because I had really bad pain in my jaw, and it was hard to eat and talk. After just a few visits, my jaw felt so much better. He was gentle and always explained what he was doing. After a few adjustments, I don't have pain, and I can eat and talk without any clicking or pain. I'm so thankful for Dr. Knapp.

Kim P. April 2024

I love playing pickleball, but shoulder pain was making it really hard to enjoy the game. Since I started seeing Dr. Knapp, my shoulder feels so much better. After just a few adjustments, the pain has almost completely gone away, and I can play without any pain. I'm so thankful for the help!
